Ms Button does not wear a watch. Perhaps if she did, she would not always be cutting it so fine with her timekeeping. You might imagine that it would be a Rolex Lady Datejust or a Chanel J12 that would adorn the wrist and incentivise Ms Button to be five minutes early instead of ten minutes late. But you would be wrong.
Ms Button has always had a hankering for a gentleman’s wristwatch. There’s something about the solid chunkiness of a man’s watch contrasted with the delicateness of a petite wrist that particularly appeals. And not just any gentleman’s wristwatch. One inspired by the popular retro iconography that is the television test card would do just dandy.
