You might recognise the name Issa London, but not know why.
Well, Issa London was responsible for the dress that a Catherine Elizabeth Mountbatten-Windsor slipped on to announce her engagement. It was a dress that spawned thousands of replicas and was truly fit for a princess. But just imagine how much fun it would have been had she stepped out in a little number emblazoned with a cartoon Andy Warhol on instead!
Here at button towers, we love all things Warhol. Eight Elvises protect our MacBook. Marilyn Diptych is on the wall. There are Campbell’s Soup Can (Tomato) bedsheets.
But now, Issa London has launched its must have 2013 cruise collection with a playful cartoon Warhol self portrait print taking centre stage.
The stand out piece has to be the pleat skirt gown which gives grown up glamour to a free spirited print. Also noteworthy is the Warhol twinset, which comfortably puts Warhol into the realm of workwear without raising any eyebrows.
Cardigans are going to be the essential piece for spring layers and this is one that will never date. Wear it now, love it now, then put it away and love it even more when you rediscover it in five years time.
